Challenges

Challenging issues are our specialty

The ability to solve problems quickly and creatively has become a key reason that our clients remain satisfied. Because of our proven track record in resolving complex issues, clients are confident in our ability to resolve any issue and constantly challenged us with issues that normally would not be undertaken. Clients rely upon our “can do” attitude which allows us to handle any issue with enthusiasm and determination to resolve it in favor of our client. Here are a couple examples of past success.

A call from the CEO to state his elderly father was scheduled for pre admission testing on a Thursday and surgery on a Friday in Boston at MGH. He was told by the doctor’s office that the first day for the admission would be approved on Friday not Thursday. My client asked if I could have the admission approved for Thursday so he would not cause further stress to his father by having to take his father home and return again very early the next morning. I contacted the cardiologist who gave me the name of the surgeon to call. I called the surgeon to request they ask the insurance company for a Thursday admission. They requested the new admission date with the hospital, since it is the hospital’s responsibility to contact the insurance carrier to approve the confinement. I called MGH and they said they had received the surgeon’s request to change the admission date and it would take a few days for a determination to be made. I called the hospital back a few days later and found out that the admission was approved for Thursday. I contacted the CEO and advised him the admission was all set for the date he wanted.

This issue took 5 days. By taking over the responsibility on this issue, we saved our client from worrying about the issue and several hours of his time making the phone calls ourself.

An HR Director had called to state that one of her employees had a step father who was very sick in the Caribbean. The family wanted to transport him home for care. Because of my previous background, I was able to contact 2 air ambulance vendors I had worked with and received pricing and availability on an emergent medical transport. I was able to find a private jet already returning to the states with a patient which cut the cost of the flight in half. The transport did not pan out however, the employee and family were so grateful for the information in the event it was needed.

The HR Director looked like a hero and she received accolades from the CEO of the company as well as the employee and families.
